I used to take the Coast Starlight to Eugene, Oregon a lot in the early 70s. If one of the old Black porters worked in the club car, we could smoke joints with them late at night. Anyway, Jetrock, I was just wondering if you live in White Rock? Maybe there is no little town there any more, but the map shows there is still White Rock Road. Finally, message me privately about where I can buy the books you have written. I am particularly interested in Sacramento transit in the early 20th century. I will be in the US this spring, and want to pick up copies of them. If you could sell me signed versions, that would be so much better.

yeah, that's a great site--the archivist at the Western Railway Museum uses groceteria.com for archival research. Neat stuff, especially the old shots...

Have you been in the Jade Garden restaurant? I've always been curious about it - obviously the place has been around for a long time. Any information you'd please share, o sage of Sacto history?

posted by joshryker on December 21, 2008

How long has the place been there? What styles of Chinese cuisine do they serve? Is it all retro-cool or oldie-moldy in there? I've been wondering for years.</p

Jetrock - I highly recommend the train between Seattle & Vancouver.

posted by Wendysue on December 21, 2008

I used to take the Coast Starlight to Eugene, Oregon a lot in the early 70s. If one of the old Black porters worked in the club car, we could smoke joints with them late at night. Anyway, Jetrock, I was just wondering if you live in White Rock? Maybe there is no little town there any more, but the map shows there is still White Rock Road. Finally, message me privately about where I can buy the books you have written. I am particularly interested in Sacramento transit in the early 20th century. I will be in the US this spring, and want to pick up copies of them. If you could sell me signed versions, that would be so much better.
